My sweet little man

I'm hoping writing about this will help me feel better.  Camden has had physical therapy for over a year now.  He started with Karen (our AWESOME physical therapist) because he was late walking, but has continued with her due to balance and toe walking issues.

We are pretty sure he walks on his toes due to his sensory processing problems (that's a whole OTHER post).. and that it's not linked to autism (praying really hard that we're right).  Anyways, a few months ago.. Karen suggested that Camden get SMO's (Read about them here).  I was ok with that.. I had no worries because 1.  you could barely see them  and 2.  it was temporary.  Well, last week the company came to fit him for his SMO's and immediately the guy said he needed AFO's because his toe walking is so severe. (Read about AFO's here). Well.. I have to be honest.. I was in TEARS..  these aren't so small, they cover the back of his calf.. and they clearly look like leg braces.

I KNOW it will help him, I KNOW it is best for him now while he's young.. but I can't help but feel sad about it.  :(  I dont think any mother wants to see their child in leg braces. :(  I am glad he's getting them in winter so that he can wear pants with them. :(

Ever since I remember I wanted to move out of Florida.  I always wanted to be in the Carolina's.  Now that I'm here.. I kind of wish I was back in Florida.  Funny how it works out that way, huh!  Well now that we're away from family.. it's nice when we get to spend time together.  This weekend was really nice.  Mom and Chris came up to visit..  it was a short visit but it was definitely packed full of fun. :)  They got here Friday, we went to Perfectly Franks (it is going to be featured on a February episode of Diner's, Drive-In's and Dive's.. so we HAD to!), we went to the Summerville Farmer's Market, the Firefly Farm and Distillary, had an AMAAAZING dinner and Gammy birthday celebration then this morning we went to brunch at Southern Seasons.

Needless to say, we had fun with Gammy J and Grandad.. it was gorgeous weather and fun spending time with family.  :)

Halloween

It was Madison and Camden's first Halloween out trick or treating!  Daddy had off too!!  I was soooo excited to go out with my family!  Most of you know I live in a neighborhood where the houses are literally 5-6 feet apart... sooo... it's PRIME trick or treating!  They even have someone out directing traffic!! craaazzyy!!!
Anyways..Maddie was a scrumptious strawberry and Camden was a super cute cheeseburger... They walked from house to house.. and did an AWESOME job going  up to the door and getting the candy and putting it into their bucket!!  I was super impressed.  Maddie got a little scared with some of the costumes but bounced back pretty quick.

It was soo cool watching the twins learn the fun of Halloween.. I felt so blessed tonight.  After Mike brought Camden in for the night Maddie and I went back out for more.. having the best time!  When we came in.. Maddie told Oliver and Bella "No!" if they went near her candy! haha!

Pictures

Every year I get the twins pictures done.  When the twins were born we found this a-mazing photographer named Chi.. who blew my mind with her pictures.  Well... today was the day for the twins 2 year pictures.  I scheduled them with Chi at least 6-7 months ago, and needless to say.. I was super excited!!  We set it up to do it at the North Charleston Riverfront park.. Great!  I thought things were gonna be great.. super perfect area.  I went yesterday and bought Camden and Madison super cute outfits to wear.. they both had converse. (love it!)
I woke up early this morning.. got everyone ready.. we got there.. we took our first family picture with her ever.. then..... disaster.  Camden was pretty decent at first.. they wouldn't stand still.. they wouldn't sit, they wouldn't play on any of the structures.. Madison was throwing tantrums every few minutes.. Camden just wanted to run!  It was not the ideal situation for pretty pricey family photos.  Chi was nice about it!  I was mortified.. I never wanted to be "that mom".. you know.. the one that can't control her kids!  Today.. I was "that mom" ..

Eventually... we gave up.. and decided to let the twins run and play on our way back to the cars.. well.. that didn't happen either.  :(  When we got to the car.... Madison was laughing and talking and playing... go figure!!  So help me.... say a prayer to the picture gods.. that Chi got SOMETHING good ... She's a miracle worker.. that's for sure... till then.. enjoy 2 of my favorites from Chi's photo shoots in years past!
